Explore Computers and Become a PRO!
In an ever changing, technology dependent society, Computer Quest is dedicated to teaching the next-generation of computer-savvy students. We seek to model passion and creativity that will inspire and encourage all campers to pursue their dreams. We have small class sizes, ensuring that campers receive individual attention and customized curriculum. The counselors are high-achieving Westmont students with a passion for sharing their love of technology. All courses take place in Westmont College’s new Mac lab.
A Day in Life of a Computer Quester
9:00 – All campers meet for morning announcements and a fun teambuilding game
9:30 – Work with your instructor and friends to learn and create exciting projects
10:30 – Time for a computer break! Head outside for a quick outdoor game
10:45 – Back to the lab!
12:00 – Let’s Eat! (Please bring your own sack lunch each day)
12:45 – Re-energized and ready for the second round!
2:00 – Afternoon Activities! Tons of fun with more outdoor games or even computer games!
3:00 – Squeeze in a little more work on our computer projects before heading home!
4:00 – Whew, everyone’s exhausted! Time for parent pick-up!
Course Descriptions
Computer Explorers (Entering grades 1st-4th)
Offered: Week 1 (July 12 - 16)
This week 6-9 year olds will explore the wild world of computers in a fun atmosphere. Past themes have been a virtual trip around the world or a hunt for a hidden treasure! Explorers learn about everything from digital photography and computer storytelling to keyboarding skills.
Video Game Creation (Entering grades 5th-8th)
Offered: Week 2 (July 19 - 23) & Week 3 (July 26 - July 30)
Crazy about games? Take your gaming skills to the next level by making your own creation! Pick a theme, design characters and sets, create your game, and challenge others to play. From theory to finished project, you’ll learn all about what it takes to create like the pros.
Online Design (Entering grades 5th-8th)
Offered: Week 2 (July 19 - 23) & Week 3 (July 26 - July 30)
If you love art and computers, this class is right up your alley! Learn to use professional art software like a pro! Create a variety of art projects using tools like Illustrator and Photoshop, and then take your masterpieces home to show off to your friends!
