Bravissimo!, our fifth annual summer musical theatre camp, June 19 – July 2. This 11 day camp is offered for students entering the 7th–12th grades.
Over the course of the 11-days, campers will have the opportunity to rehearse a fully staged musical theatre production culminating in a grand performance on Thursday July 1st and Friday July 2nd. We are excited to announce that this summer’s production will be Oklahoma!
Each day of camp will begin with a large group activity engaging students in the process of creating and performing. The students will then rotate through workshops focusing on each of the artistic aspects of producing a full-scale musical theater performance. Instruction in healthy and age-appropriate singing technique, acting, set-design, costuming, and technical direction will be provided by credentialed music and drama specialists. On the final day of camp (Friday, July 2nd), students will help "strike" the production, giving them the full theater experience, from set-up to tear-down.
Bravissimo! will be held in Porter Hall, the heart of the Performing Arts on the picturesque campus of Westmont College, providing state of the art facilities for a professional production.
Campers should arrive at 9am with a water bottle and wearing comfortable clothes and supportive shoes. A snack will be provided, and campers should bring their own sack lunch. Auditions will take place on the first day of camp, Saturday June 19th. All other camp sessions will take place Monday-Friday of the following two weeks.
There will be 2 performances on Thursday, July 1st, and 1 performance on Friday July 2nd. Two tickets are included in the camp registration. Additional tickets will be sold for $5.00 a piece.
